15th December 2005
Following a successful year of trading in 2005, 2006 looks set to be a record year for Warrington based IT spare parts provider, Totis. It has been exploring new markets for its core offering of computer spare parts whilst also building on relationships with existing customers.

The company, who have recently undertaken a major rebranding exercise, has also revamped its online presence by simultaneously launching their new web site and separate online store. Company director Peter Baylis commented “Our new website and web store are a great improvement over our earlier offering. They’re much more representative of our product offerings & core competencies…. The response has been much better than we could have imagined. We’ve had really positive feedback from both new and existing customers alike!”

Totis supply products manufactured by Dell, HP Compaq, Toshiba & IBM to business users, computer maintainers & repair workshops across Europe. In the past 12 months it has seen business levels growing healthily. When asked what plans the company has for 2006, director Paul Owen replied:

“We’re not aiming to be the biggest player in the spares market, but we’re rapidly gaining recognition for being one of the best. Customers are pleased with the goods and services that we’re providing, so if they’re happy, we’re happy! We’ll continue to build on the successes of 2005 in a way that ensures our presence in market for many years to come.”

So, in a market which many companies have found to be increasing competative, what is so different about Totis? Andy Yates, Toshiba Product Specialist attributes Totis’ success to teamwork, product knowledge and customer focus. “We’re not just shifting boxes. We’re providing an important service to our customers, often supplying mission critical equipment direct to site. They trust us to do this. We respond quickly to customer requests and they know that they can rely on us when they need us most.”

“We need to be committed, reliable and efficient. Qualities that the Totis team have in abundance!”

15th December 2005

Dust on the floor of workshops in India and China has a lot to say about the unintended afterlife of PCs and television sets cast off by consumers and businesses in the United States.

A new report from Greenpeace International takes a close look at the presence of toxic metals such as lead and chemicals, including flame retardants, in places where obsolete

electronic gear is disassembled and often scavenged for its pieces.
